Website Meeting #1
Thanks to Nick who showed up to the website team meeting. We started work on the redesign of the website and started collecting ideas to make it more useful. Because of his interest in programming, we had an impromptu lesson, followed by a take home tutorial.
If any one is interested in working with the website team or has suggestions for added capabilities please let Anna know. Next website team meeting is next Thursday 7/5.
Meeting notes:
Current State of Team Website:
- Contains basic necessary information and programming, but doesn’t go above or beyond.
- Not interactive
- very few graphics
- difficult for non-website programmers to update
What other teams are doing:
- Using blogging software to enable easy updating and site changes.
- Using slide shows, picture galleries, calendars, Google map inserts, etc.
- More pictures!
HTML/CSS scripting lesson:
6/27 AWARDS/RCA/MARKETING OFF SEASON: Meeting #3
-Attendees: Kristine, Katie, Kevin, John
Due to the low attendance the students were given the option of what they wanted to spend their time doing- they opted to look at the office and other unused spaces in our facilities. We cleaned, planned out, and executed the re arrangement of the office, cafeteria and driver station area.
Office:
- We went through and reorganized materials in the closet and on the desks.
- There is still much to be done, but we made great progress tonight.
- Chairs are broken and office is very small and hard to be productive in. Also very isolated area so it’s not ideal for groups or even more than 3 people to be working in.
Please see next two pages for Cafeteria and Driver Station layout photos and descriptions!
Trying to figure out who’s a judge on Thursdays.
Gael Force Question of the Day:
…This year, Gael Force students loved writing pen pal letters with Buzz Team 175!
What’s your favorite outreach project/event/activity?
